A B O U T

Gregory Bayne is a filmmaker and mixed media artist working in film, video, animation and design.

His work as a producer, director, editor, cinematographer, animator and designer has appeared in several short, feature length and documentary films, DVD and commercial productions that have shown theatrically, at film festivals worldwide (including Sundance, Munich and SXSW) and broadcast nationally on PBS, ESPN and the Sundance Channel.

Clients include HP, World Health Organization, Oliver Russell Agency, Drake/Cooper, Idaho Department of Commerce, Priddy Brothers Entertainment, Tonic Life, Lee Pesky Learning Center and Owen Jones.

Gregory is also a co-founder and artistic director for both the True West Cinema Festival, i48:Idaho 48 Hour Film Festival and Competition and the newly formed Idaho Film Project in Boise, Idaho.

JANUARY 2009

Currently contracting with the World Health Organization's Worldwide Alliance of Patients for Patient Safety to create a film series called "Patient Voices" featuring patient telling their stories of medical error from around the globe.

Blogging about PERSON OF INTEREST and other DIY and film/new media related topics at Newbreed.

NOVEMBER 2008

Working with Priddy Brothers and their Windrider organization to create www.windriderforum.org, an online intersection between faith and film.

SEPTEMBER 2008

After 5 very successful runs it's come time ot pursue new adventures, thus the True West Cinema Festival will officially shut it's doors and say "Happy trails..." It was a good run.

AUGUST 2008

True West Cinema Festival gets Gonzo and a whole bunch of other cool films...meanwhile, Revival kicks out the design:

JUNE 2008

Purple State of Mind (editing and sound design by Greg) wins Best Spiritual Film at Breckenridge Film Festival.

MAY 2008

Working with Tonic Life Media our of London to create Trailers for the Reel Lives Film Festival featuring films about the many faces of cancer.

Person of Interest garners grant award from Idaho Commission on the Arts.

MARCH 2008

IBID plays Munich.

IBID has been selected for the 2008 SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas. It will show in the "Emerging Visions" section of the festival. Gregory shot and edited the film.

JANUARY 2008

Shooting a new feature! PERSON OF INTEREST was written by and stars J. Reuben Appelman and tells the story of Terrance Dyer, a veteran of the Balkans and Iraqi confrontations and self-proclaimed American Patriot now living underground in the streets of Seattle. After finding connection with a young journalist looking to tell his story, Terrance’s feelings of being orphaned by his father, by his country, and by God, rise steadily to the surface causing him to sink rapidly into a heightened sense of paranoia and betrayal leading him inevitably toward violence.

Working with the Purple State of Mind team to create a series of shor videos including extras and outtakes from the documentary. They are all online at www.youtube.com/purplestateofmind.
